Chris Lake is a Licensed and Certified Prosthetist Orthotist, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotics and Prosthetics and Chief Clinical Director of Lake Prosthetics and Research, LLC. Firmly committed to quality, patient-centered care, Chris devotes ample time with each patient so he can ensure their goals are met.
A 1995 graduate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Prosthetics and Orthotics program, Chris went on to complete the two most highly competitive clinical residencies in the nation. These residencies at Southern Illinois University and the University of Oklahoma provided the upper limb prosthetic, material science and fabrication skill foundation for his further specialization.
In addition to pursuing a very successful clinical career, Chris has made significant contributions to the prosthetic field. A clinical instructor in upper limb prosthetics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Chris is conducting his prosthetic-focused research in North Texas as well as pursuing his doctorate from the University of Strathclyde, National Centre for Prosthetics and Orthotics. He is chair of the Upper Limb Prosthetics Society along with being a member and fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and the International Society of Prosthetists and Orthotists. A respected lecturer at medical conferences and symposiums world-wide, Chris has published peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Medical Engineering and Physics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation - Clinics of North America, and The Atlas of Amputations and Limb Deficiencies. He reviews article submissions for the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Journal of Rehabilitation Research and Development, and Medical Engineering and Physics. In addition, he serves on the O&P Edge Editorial Advisory Board.
